Delete your account

How to delete a Family Holidays account, and exactly what goes with it.

From the app

This is the quickest way, and it takes effect immediately.

1. Open Family Holidays.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Tap Delete account, then confirm.

If you cannot get into the app

Email [email protected] from the address you signed in with, asking to delete your Family Holidays account. We will confirm once it is done.

What is deleted

• Your account: the identifier your sign-in provider gave us, your email address, and your name on the account.
• Every sign-in token, on every device.
• Your calendar subscription link, if you had one.
• Your membership of every family, so you lose access to all of them.

What is kept, and why

Your family's calendar stays. Birthdays, holidays, gift ideas and who is hosting belong to the whole family, not to whoever happened to type them in. Deleting your account does not erase everyone else's.

Your name stays on that family's list, as an ordinary profile no longer tied to any account — the same kind a family creates for a relative who has never installed the app. That is what keeps birthdays and past gifts working for the people still using it. Any admin of that family can remove the profile if you would rather it went too, and you can ask us to do it using the email address above.

A family you were the only member of is deleted outright, with every occasion, gift idea and menu in it. Nobody is left who could ever open it.

Can it be undone?

No. Deleting is immediate and permanent. Signing in again afterwards creates a new, empty account, and you would need a fresh invite to rejoin a family.
